That's a rap continued

Thanksgiving was very feastful for us. Jonny got to experience his first feast at school. It was so cool watching the kids eat their turkey lunch meat and visiting with one another dressed as Native Americans and Pligrims. As you can see my little Native American is still a little goofy:)
Oh looky here. Great Aunt Tammy got to see her great nephew Dillon Seth the day he entered this old world. His mommy is doing great and he is so yummy. It is hard to believe that my sister not only hit 40 but she became a grandma too. She knows I love her with all my heart but just cant resist reminding her she hit 40 before I did. I hope you enjoy my little cuttie patootie. I am sure there will be more pics coming soon.
Here I am holding my little buddy.
The Scott Family tradition every Christmas is to travel to Terrell to Walls Family Farm to cut down our Christmas Tree. Papaw got to make the journey with us this time. We were sad that Mimi was sick and couldnt join us. Maybe next year! So timmmmmbbbbbeeerrrr. Our tree and the faithful tree hunters.
Now this is Jonny's teacher on our way to Canton to a tree farm with 5 other classes of kindergarten. We made a day of it and I think we were all having a simular look on our face. Most of the kids fell asleep on the way home and were ready to go again once we arrived back at school. We had a total blast. Jonny has a new classmate and he has not been in the states very long. He so enjoyed roasting marshmellows and taking a hayride! He had a smile bigger than Texas. Jonny has taken him under his wing to help him learn how things work in class. Thats my boy!
Well that about sums up the Scott family year. We are recooperating from the busyness of the holidays and will take a little over night trip to make our vacation complete.
We pray that you and your family enjoyed your time together and took a moment to remember that Jesus was born on Christmas morn and that He is why we celebrate.

That's a rap!

The year is winding down and I should share a little of what is happening and happened to our family over the last few months.
October was a crazy month for us. We started the remodel on our house! It has been such a blessing to have things cleaned up and have a touch of the Scott family on it. We had not done anything over the last 10 years except paint the boys rooms. So it was time. Here is a picture of the living room. We also got new furniture but it wasnt here at that time.
Halloween came and went. I did not get a good picture of the boys in their costumes. Not sure what I was thinking! I guess it was the first year we did not have to do a lot with the festivial at our church. So here they are in all their camo ninja glory.
We have a new additon to our family. This is Minnie our family dog! Thank you Aunt Stacy and Kierston. Minnie has been a good thing for us. The boys love her and I even like her too. She got to sleep in my bed so you know I gotta like her a little:)

Out of the mouth of babes!

Today I had a long day at church. Ryan and I were together and Roger and Jonny were together. While Roger was working on our floors (putting in new ones), he and Jonny were talking about the baby's room (coming from China at some point in our lifetime) saying we had to get it cleaned up for her to be able to have a room. They were talking about how long it was going to take for us to bring her home and Roger said that it was going to be a long time and Jonny's reply, "Yea, I know, that really Sucks!" (of course his dad told him that those were probably not the nicest words to put out there but it was true.)

As I sat at the computer tonight, the boys were in bed reading and Roger had gone back to their room and Jonny was reading one of his new books. He was saying something about the Old Testament. Well, Roger told me they were watching Andy Griffith today and it was in black and white and Jonny said, "that is Old Testament!"

They are so darn cute!

I will blog more soon. I have some great pictures to post.

Happy Birthday to Stacy and Tammy!

September was a momentous month for my oldest sister, Stacy and myself. She turned 40 and I 37. I love her so much. It is a blessing to share a birthday with her. Her girls planned a dinner to her surprise and our family attended minus our parents(sick) and Roger(working). We had an incredible time celebrating together. Mother and Daddy had our favorite cake made for us, Strawberry - YUMMY. Here is a picture......

The weekend started on Friday the 28th. Roger reserved a hotel for us in Frisco. Massages awaited us on arrival. He came to check us in and when we went to our room, he had brought us some of our childhood favorite snacks! FUNIONS AND BEANDIP and DR. PEPPER (the real stuff from Dublin) - go granny go granny. I am sure if he would have been able to pull it off there would have been maccaroni goo and pepperoni and mushroom pizza from Pizza Inn to go along. We ate and ate that weekend. We went to the movies and totally enjoyed our time together. We ended up at First Monday (another childhood memory).

So to my sister, I hope you enjoyed our time together, I know I did! We should make this an annual event.

Disclamer: Please note that Stacy's daughters were the ones to plan her surprise:)

Lots of Happenings

It seems as if I have forgotten how to blog:) I have been requested to update for our fans.

There are many events that have taken place in the past month or so. Lets see if I can highlight them.
Ah.......... the first day of school! Ryan started the 2nd Grade and Jonathan began his first day of Kindergarten. The life of parents of two children in school. Makes me want to ask if I am smarter than a kindergartener. How 'bout a pic from the first day. The boys have completed their first six weeks of school. Jonathan has done very well. We had his parent conference and he did well on his testing for the first of the year. He will be tested again for the things he needs to know to move on to first grade in the spring. Ryan was on the A/B honor roll!!!! He was very proud. He is doing very well in the second grade.
Ryan has enjoyed Karate! He has progressed very quickly. He has earned his orange belt. Some pictures from his orange stripe test and his orange belt test. The first picture is Ryan after he received his yellow belt, second is his orange stripe and third......his orange belt with his instructor Mr. David.
He is very proud of his orange belt. If he keeps up the hard work, he could be a green belt in January.
We are very proud of him. He has started sparing which is fighting with pads.
He and Jonny were showing off the other night and wow they both are good! Jonny is not taking Karate but has watched enough he has some of the techniques.

Never a dull moment!

We have had a few days of craziness in the Scott household. A week ago today, I was blessed with running over a fire hydrant. Yes, a fire hydrant. I was headed on an errand, by myself, and looked down to adjust air conditioning and jumped the curb which scared me and I hit the gas pedal. In route for the silver fire hydrant just feet away. Took it completely out of the ground drug it under the car into the street. Yes you can imagine the scene....no there wasn't any water flowing like a fountain. Thankfully the emergency cut off worked! Totalled the car. The floor was all messed up and the insurance company said that it is too expensive to repair flooring. The gas tank was also crunched. Roger was very gracious in dealing with the mess I made! Thankfully the only thing that was hurt was the car and my pride! We are now the proud owners of a GMC Acadia. It is one sweet ride!

On top of all this, my boss, Susan, took a teaching job in Wylie and I am now the interim Children's Director at our church! I am excited about the new things coming along with my position. It will be hard at first but once I get a routine down it should be great.

Sneaky Boy!

Jonny was trying to convince his brother to let him sleep in his bed. So he came and told me that he was sleeping in Ryan's bed tonight. Well I knew better than that. Ryan doesn't like to sleep in Jonny's bed. Oh the pouty face:)

As I put the boys to bed tonight, Ryan asked for another two pillows. He only got one..... It had been a while since they went to bed so I went to make sure everyone was asleep and covered. Ryan's covers were looking weird so I climbed the ladder to check on him. Well, he wasn't there but his pillows were all nice and neat like they were him! So the hunt was on. He was being a sneaky little boy and hiding in his daddy's closet. The excuse was, he wanted to sleep with me.

Oh the things the boys will do.

I love the things they come up with.

Happy Birthday to Ryan!

Ryan turned 7 this month. It is hard to believe he is growing up. It just seems like yesterday we were calling mother and daddy asking what they wanted to be called. Mother was the first responder with Mimi, I am Mimi. And Mimi she is! Daddy on the other hand had a name from Stacy's girls and he decided he would stick with Papaw. We had something to go with Mimi but he declined, so Papaw it is.

One of my favorite memories of Ryan being a baby was when he could lay on the couch with me without falling off. We would take nice long naps. Now it is mom I don't need to sleep!

He is taking Karate and loves it. He has his yellow belt and will test for his orange stripe the end of August. I love to watch him when he is totally focused on his moves. You can see the mind just a working. He got a belt shelf for his birthday. I cant wait to watch as it fills up!

We had a swim party for him at our church. Thankfully the rain held off so they could swim. He had lots of fun with his friends and cousins. We had homemade ice cream cake. It was so yummy we did not take any home!

Thanks to all our friends and family that made his day special.

More Summer Fun!

We took one last vacation for the summer. We went to Riverbend in Oklahoma. Yes Oklahoma:) Some family friends invited us along for the ride. We went to Arbuckle Wilderness, Turner Falls and Lake Murray. All had a grand time. You will see some of our adventures at Arbuckle. Roger had the children ages 5 and up in the back of the truck as I drove slowly through the terrain. My favorite quote of the day was from Roger, "That Ostrich took my cup!" We had a wiener roast, well I roasted mine over the open flame of the gas stove. (Thanks mother for showing me how to do this when we were kids! It comes in handy.) If you have a fire going you gotta do smores. It was funny watching the different shades of marshmallow coming in to go onto the
chocolate! Turner Falls was great. The water was so refreshing. It was fun to watch Mr. Jeremy and Kylie zoom off of the slide and Trevor doing his acrobatics off of the diving board. Jonny and I just slid around on the rocks as we tried to walk through the river. The kids found a mini fall that they used as a slide. Poor Roger was the one to catch them as they made their way down. I am not sure who was more tired. We all had a great time and want to go back again next year!

Fishin' with Papaw

Tuesday, July 10th was my dad's birthday and he happened to be on vacation this week. The boys and i had planned on going to Denison to see a movie with one of their cousins and then off to the Denison Dam to see the water going over the spill way! Papaw got to go along.....he suggested that we go fishin' too!

So after our very boring movie, which my sister slept through, we headed off to our little picnic and to wait for Papaw to go see the water and fish. We started out fishing. Jonny caught the first 3 fish. His brother was very miffed. He told Papaw, "I am fishing where Jonny is!" So Ryan changed spots and still did not catch a fish. Finally he ended up with 2 catches for the day. My poor niece she was just not getting anything on the hook....her bait wouldn't stay on either. Those pesky little blue gill. Now I took Ryan's pole for some reason, and I caught the biggest blue gill which happened to have some yellow. Papaw said that he could not record it in the fishin' book because he did not see my whale of a tail!

We ended our day looking at the water taking a small plunge over the spillway and then off to see the flood gates dumping water. I told Ryan it looked like a very small Niagara Falls. It freaked him out a little to be so close to the water.

I will post some pictures once they are downloaded.

Papaw's birthday ended up being a great day!

Disney World!

Wow we had an awesome time at Disney! I am not sure who had more fun, Roger and I or the boys. We were able to spend 7 days at the parks and we even took a side trip to Tampa to visit Martha. (A new friend of the family)

We arrived around 1 am on Saturday, June 2. We were all beat so we took the opportunity to sleep in.

Once we got our wits about us, we headed off to Epcot! We returned two more times during our stay. I believe this was our favorite of the parks. We rode "Test Track" 3 times. Wow what a rush. This ride was all about testing vehicles for safety. It went through all the elements of testing a car. We went through a road test, extreme heat, extreme cold, corrosion, No ALB and ALB around some curves and the final round was the "crash test"! We were headed for the crash wall when all of a sudden...... the crash door opens and we are at about 63 mph! What a ride!!!!!!!!!!

Our visit with our friend Martha! The boys were able to feed her neighborhood squirrels! It was so cool. When we arrived, there was not a squirrel to be seen. Martha came out with peanuts (in the shell) and started calling them... two...four....I bet there were about 10 - 15 squirrels out having some breakfast!

Here are some pictures that are my favorites. I hope you enjoy!

Our Eoree and Tigger Friends!

MGM had Star Wars weekends the month of June so we were able to get some pictures with a few characters.
The ever so Dark..............Darth Vader!!

Here are my "goofy" Scott Men!!!
Aren't they so cute...........
